My Students DON’T Like to Read!!!

Happy Thanksgiving week friends. Lately I’ve been asking each of my students what they enjoy doing. I learned something surprising about most of my students. My students say that they DON’T LIKE TO READ! This surprised. So, this week as you leave your schools for your Thanksgiving holiday, pick one of our books and listen to it. Listen to it as your driving to your grandparents’ home, as you’re sitting in the airport, or as you sit in your pj’s wrapped in a blanket at home. Just listen and enjoy! Nothing more. And, when you finish one choose another to listen to. Listen and enjoy all holiday long. Safe travels and have a great Monday! You can also find us at: Facebook, InstagramPinterest, and TwitterWe are two sisters on a mission to make a difference by spreading fun and engaging literacy experiences across the globe. “Baby It’s Cold Outside! Time to Visit a Prehistoric Friend!”

The cold weather is beginning to settle in and this means less time running around outside. Maybe it’s time to visit your prehistoric friends at a natural history museum near you. We love our Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point and Museum of Natural History at the University of Utah. We’re lucky to have two top ranked museums located across the Wasatch Front. One of my favorite prehistoric fossils at the Museum of Ancient Life is the earliest horse. It looks like “Kevin” the bird in the movie “Up.” Check out our read aloud, “Dinosaur Cove: Catching the Velociraptor,” about two boys, Jamie and Tom who have discovered a world of real dinosaurs through the hole in a cave on the cliff of Dinosaur Cove. They meet Wanna, a new friend, and in this book run into a Velociraptor.
